I think many of us who voted for Coburn secretly feared that he would spend much of his time defending or apologizing for saying some outlandish thing (something he has a habit of doing) rather than legislating. But there was no fear that he would go wobbly on any conservative issues. It seems that the latter outweighed the former. While he
has been making news outside the state, it’s been for mostly good things. A week or so ago he cosponsored legislation that protected freedom on the Internet, he's taken a lead in opposing the asbestos trust fund, and all the while upsetting the Senate with his crusade
against pork. Good show.
