Talk about cultural insensitivity!

Iran needs to watch more Hollywood films, desparately. This fellow (Professor Hasan Bolkhari ) is a cultural adviser to the Iranian Education Department & a Ph. D. – therefore he must represent the learned elite in the mullacracy. Here’s a snippet from a seminar showing his noodle at work:

Professor Hasan Bolkhari: There is a cartoon that children like. They like it very much, and so do adults-Tom and Jerry.
[...]
Some say that this creation by Walt Disney will be remembered forever. The Jewish Walt Disney Company gained international fame with this cartoon. It is still shown throughout the world. This cartoon maintains its status because of the cute antics of the cat and mouse – especially the mouse.
Disney? Disney!?! Sir! I burn your flag…sir! Disney my veal colored arse! Apparenly all American cartoon mice look the same to you! Suicide belts at dawn!

Reminds me of a story told by Madeline Albright to some audience on C-Span a while back. During one of Yasser Arafat's visits, he was at her house. Someone in the audience had asked what the Madam Secretary learned about him up close, and she said that he really, really, really liked Tom and Jerry. It was on tv and Yasser's eyes were glued to the set and he was laughing hysterically.
