Okay, so blogger ate my posting. Anyway here it is again, an commentary from the Village Voice about the flaws in the "good ol' boy" cowboy image that Bush is trying to cultivate.
I enjoyed that article. I didn’t buy the attacks on Bush - I still think he’s a forthright fella and an honor to the cowboy spirit - but at least Erik Baard paid tribute to the idea of a cowboy instead of mocking it. Drawing a contrast to Bush and cowboy ideals is fresher and more effective than dismissing him as a cowboy.
